Squeal and flanging sound is the sound that trams and trains make when they go through a curve in the track. It is one of the biggest causes of noise and vibration disturbance in urban areas. With the Squeal and Flanging Detector, Level.Tools has developed an algorithm that separates curve noise from other tram noise (rolling noise, noise from track changes, etc.) and other sounds (warning bell, etc.). This month, the software program was sold to SensorNet to be built into their measurement stations.
More information on this software tool can be found on our page on the Squeal and Flanging detector.
