Sovist calculates the influence of the design of the junctions on the sound and vibration insulation in the construction. This junction refers to the way in which floors, walls and the support structure are connected to each other.
Sovist is based on TNO’s research Lichter Bouwen. It has been developed for Bouwen met Staal and is validated for a number of constructions.
Calculation methods
The following calculation methods are used in the program:
• The sound insulation is calculated according to the EN12354 standard;
• The vibration insulation is calculated according to the HIVOSS guideline, also known as the SBR guideline for floor vibration;
• The influence of the junction is calculated using finite element modeling (FEM) and statistical energy analysis (SEA).
Sovist Pro
Sovist is the free version of Sovist Pro. Sovist Pro costs 50 euro and offers extra options, like calculating the design of heavier (massive) junctions and varying floors between different rooms. More updates are expected in the future.
