Sovist Pro calculates the influence of the design of the junctions on the sound and vibration insulation in the construction. This junction refers to the way in which floors, walls and the support structure are connected to each other. Sovist Pro is an extended version of the free Sovist program.
Sovist is based on TNO’s research Lichter Bouwen. It has been developed for Bouwen met Staal and is validated for a number of constructions. Currently, Sovist Pro is mainly used by graduates and PhD students. The program is being improved with their experiences and requests.
Calculation methods
The following calculation methods are used in the program:
• The sound insulation is calculated according to the EN12354 standard;
• The vibration insulation is calculated according to the HIVOSS guideline, also known as the SBR guideline for floor vibration;
• The influence of the junction is calculated using finite element modeling (FEM) and statistical energy analysis (SEA).
Extra options
The most important extra options available in the Pro version are:
• The possibility to calculate heavier (massive) construction nodes;
• Calculating varying floors between different rooms.
